On paper, the idea sounded legit: a platform designed to help socially conscious individuals, businesses, and organizations connect. Future Site Features
We’ve spent the past 8 months creating the It Takes A Village Nation brand and building the website and we plan to continue to improve the platform. Here are a few of the features to look forward to in the upcoming months: Cover Photo Repositioning: Currently you can upload a cover photo, however you cannot choose how to crop it or reposition the photo. We are aware that this can be frustrating and are working on ways to improve this. Login Using Existing Social Media (facebook, twitter, etc.): We’d like to make signing up or logging into our site as accessible as possible for users. Integrating social media sign-up or login will eliminate the need to remember another password. ITAVN Launch Party
Join us for a night of celebration and community building to honor of our official launch! The event is on Thursday, April 6th, from 6:30pm – 9:30pm at The Greenlining Institute in Oakland. It will feature local businesses, music, food, and performances in celebration of Launching It Takes a Village Nation. Together we can be on the cutting edge of an innovative new platform designed to create meaningful connections for individuals, organizations, and businesses who share interests around social justice issues. 1912 - “Jim Thorpe Wins Decathlon and Pentathlon at Olympics” "Jim Thorpe, a member of the Sac and Fox Nations, won the gold medals in the decathlon and pentathlon at the 1912 Olympics. It was the first year that those events were held in the history of the modern Olympics. The accomplishments were just two in a career of great feats that ended in Thorpe being considered one of the most versatile athletes in American history. In addition to his track and field achievements, Thorpe succeeded at football, basketball and baseball."
